A Tour of Californee
February 27th, 2008 | Written by The Rev | Topic: SermonsI will admit I did not see much of the coverage of ATOC. I did watch the final stage last night and two thing really stuck out to me. The first was the world class level of douche bagery ofRock Racing’s Mike Creed. Made the break, refuse to work. Not even close to Big Ring.
Holy wool shorts George won! In weather better suited for Arc building, George didn’t break his bike or botch a sprint. Nope, he rolled The Big Ring for the win. Nice.
Let Levi Ride? I have not really said much about this only because it is so stupid. Anyone who knows anything about the French knows that they take great delight in annoying Americans. Do you really think the Let Trek Levi site is going to make ASO change their minds? If anything they are in a cafe, chain smoking with their dogs, eating snails smug in the knowledge that they have written proof at how ticked Trek some Americans are.

I think Trek has overestimated how much we give a shit. Levi isn’t Big Ring…never has been…never will be. I don’t think they should be excluded, but I’m not losing sleeo over it either.
Let ‘em in I say…so we can see Levi get his ass handed to him.

Dude … Rock Racing! You expect them to NOT act like douchebags???
Even Cipo is about to bolt.

You are truly a idiot, you need to go back to racing 101 and watch the fucking stage 7 again. Creed got the break going and did his share in the final laps. The only Douche bag is a guy that doesn’t know squat about bike racing and has a hard-on against Rock Racing no matter what happens. If you were intelligent enough to read or listen to the Hincapie post race interview he had nothing but praise for Creed and making the break work. Creed was smart enough to know that George could out sprint everyone in that final group, and did what was neccessary to make the final selection. George knew that was the case and didn’t have a problem with the race tactics at the end.

Wow, I was wondering when someone would call me on that? There really needs to be a sarcasm font on this dang computer. BTW I have been more than favorable in my treatment of RR. The bikes are ugly and Ball does come off as a douche. Still ya gotta admire his commitment to the sport.
