And it came to pass that Monday shall be known as Music Monday, (aka: Music to Big Ring to) and it was...

A chat with Jonny Sundt, Kelly Benefit S...

Whenever I have to describe Pro road racing to a non cyclist the thing they can not wrap their head around is how much of a team sport it is. For every rider on the podium there is an army of flogged lieutenants barely among the living in the team car that got them there. A good team rider is a rare breed; they rarely get to race for personal glory, preferring to push themselves far...

Music of the Big Ring...

After reading the Brother Swindlehurst interview I downloaded some TK Webb and as usual his recomendation is spot on. It got me thinking about riding and music.  When I am at a solo service I usually have my iPod with me and I find inspiriation and strength in the tunes I rock.  Music is a very personal thing and it is not my place to judge anothers musical inclination (unless it...

An Interview With Burke Swindlehurst, Bi...

The Church of The Big Ring embraces cycling in all its forms. That said, we hold a special spot at the altar for the Pro racer. The amount of training and suffering it takes to reach the upper echelons of the sport are both inspiring and daunting. Gluttony: A sin of excess.  Do you sit at the front the entire group ride in the hope of impressing your fellow riders with you mastery of The Big Ring?  Share...

End of Days...

The only good news from this story is that no one was hurt.  It saddens my soul to think a bicycle could be used for such a senseless act.  If this keeps up how long before the Dept. of Homeland Security (in an effort to find ways waste money and rob our liberty) rounds all the messengers wearing hoodies and sends them on an extended holiday in Guantimo? Fixed gears and Planet...

Bad Joke...

Whoops!  When I wrote the post “A Tour of Californee” I was pretty sure anyone who actually watched that stage would take it as intended, with extreme sarcasm (which does not play out well in print).  Brother Creed showed some huge stones on Stage 7 of ATOC.  Sorry Mike no ill intent was meant. If anyone can get me his mailing address email me at revbigring@gmail.com ,...
