What the Hell Vuelta?

Written on April 29, 2008. Written by The Rev.

Today the Vuelta de Espania annouced the team line up. No Slpistream? Is argyle too much of a fashion no no in Spain? The Rev demands answers.

Look for Big Ring Brother Swindlehurst to be in top form at Tour of the Gila starting tomorrow. Go over to the Forum and leave your words of inspiration. He has won the overall there 3 other times and I know he is cocked and loaded for this year. Rock on Brother.

    Has Slipstream had any results?

From the team announcement last year, JV has been adamant that Slipstream would not be pursuing a full pro season. They simply don’t have the resources and size for it. They nearly tripled in size this year (budget, support staff, etc), so give it time, Rev. With the blessings of the big ring so graciously bestowed on the argyle crew, they’ll be venerated with a full pro-tour calendar soon enough.

    In Coppi’s name we pray.

Agreed with jmgeezy … I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a Continental Pro team (or division 2 squad when that’s what they were calling them) get a wildcard invite to all three major Tours in the same season …

I’m stoked about the Giro and Tour …

And if Slipstream does become a ProTour team next year, they’ll be at all three, unless the world falls apart and there’s a doping bust.
