Ask and You Shall Receive

That was some showdown today ya?  For someone who supposedly can’t climb Cancellara did a pretty good job of shelling most of the peloton.  It was painful to watch, I can’t imagine what it would be like to follow that monster.  Then to have Andy Schleck covering all the attacks after Sastre went away, it was a CSC clinic out there today.

I think Cadel is going to lose.  He put 1:20 on Sastre in the first TT and now he is 1:34 behind.  Sastre is not terrible against the clock.  I think he will ride the TT of his life and hold off Cadel.  Nice try Cadel but I think you rode too defensive and are a little over confident in your TT.  I guess we will see.

I Cadels defense he kinda had to just follow wheels since he had zero team mates on any of the final climbs.  If he wins this tour he will be lucky.  Lotto has to shell out some $$$ and get him some help in the mountains.  Horner did a much better job last year than Popovich has done for Cadel this year.  They should have kept Horner around for another year.  Lotto has failed Cadel and failed McEwen for that matter.

Vande Velde, damn that crash yesterday.

  1. nobody watches the tour except you

  2. I confess, I still watch the tour. CSC destroys it. Even the flatlanders on the team are doing better in the mtns than the climbers on Lotto. I think Cadel would have won a tour already if he had a real team. However I almost have to watch in Mute when Ligget and Sherwin are not announcing. Also can Versus suck on Lances dick anymore than they are? Take back the tour against the dopers when Lance won 7 tours on a doped to the gills tour team? If Cadel had all the dopers working for him and he was still clean he would have won it already.

  3. In the post game interview yesterday, Vande Velde pretty much let “wait until next year” slip out. Too bad, he had it in his mind. If he’d somehow gotten in one of the breaks today he’d still be in the running.
And yeah, the TdF gets the juices flowing — I’m mean natural, not dope — guys turn in the performances of their lives. So Sastre looks good.

  4. Right on brother!

  5. I definitely still watch the Tour; especially on the epic stages like Wednesday’s stage up l’Alpe d’Huez …

I hope Sastre can hold Cadel off … as the Rev mentioned, Cadel put 1:20 into him in the first time trial, and that was half the distance of the final time trial. Best thing that Sastre has going for him, however, is that he’s wearing yellow, and thus going last. The yellow jersey has been known to give many a rider that extra oomph they need to pull out a special performance, and he’ll have the benefit of knowing Evans time checks …

And Cadel just rubs me the wrong way with that massive crevice on his chin, almost-monobrow, and high squeaky voice.

    Feh.

  6. I HOPE Cadel loses…
Whiny little b*tch boy that he is…
