As you know, I am not one to stand up for dopers. The Katusha thing is ridiculous though. The “contract” states that if someone goes positive, they pay 5X their annual salary.
I’m not so much a conspiracy theorist either, but for someone like McEwen who makes bank and maybe management’s not happy with his season…He comes up positive and they have an influx of cash.
I can’t blame them for not signing.
I hear you on the timing chips. I ride around with that damned thing on all the time just because it’s a PITA to take it off and put it on, plus if I take it off and forget to bring it to the race, we all know the consequences.
