‘Cross Is Over, Now What?

Another cross season has come and gone.  The big dance on Sunday produced some surprising results.  Marianne Vos realy only won one race all season, if you are gonna win one she picked a good one.  Niels Albert’s win was surprising not because he won (he won a lot this year) but because of the unprecidented teamwork of the Belgian squad.  They got the win but honestly it was not the most exciting race to watch.

Winters in the 801 are pretty mild compared to the winter I spent growing up in Maine (207).  It is possible to ride outside pretty much every month of the year.  There are those days though where it is the trainer or something else.  For me this season the something else has been snowshoeing. I have skate skis but a nagging back problem has kept me off them.  The snowshoeing has been great though of only because i can take my dogs out with me.  I have 2 hyper Labs that get LOVE the snow.  Being Labs they are pretty happy to go out anytime but the spaz level goes to 11 when there is snow on the ground for sure. Anyway, my question to you is what do you do on those days when you can’t ride outside but also don’t want to ride the trainer?
