My unblemished record of not accurately predicting the winner of pretty much any race remains in tact.  Cavendish never got the chance to sprint at Gent today, his herring eating team mate Edvald Boasson Hagen saved the day for Columbia. 

From the reports I read it sounded like a first rate Belgian slugfest.  5 hours of echelons, cobbles and Murs.  Cav, Boonen and “Sparticus” all flatted today effectively spoiling their shots at glory.  This should give Tommeke and Fabio a little more motivation on Sunday, as if they need it.

Contest Time!

Here is your chance to show me how race prediction is done.  I will send an Eddy 53:11 shirt and a pair of Big Ring socks to the reader who come closest to prediction the Top 3 at Paris Roubaix on Sunday.  In the event of a tie the winning name will be drawn from a pint glass by my lovely girlfriend Rachel.  Here is you shot at glory. The winner is sure to have songs sung in his/her honor.
