Shannon O’Grady, originally from Northern Virginia, has accepted the Big Ring more as a Punisher than Savior! When not cycling she works as a scientist at the University of Utah. She has two older sisters that she blames as the cause of her scrappiness. Two dogs – Daisy, a 1yr old Border Collie/Aussie mix, (incidentally, the best CX dog ever) and Bear, a 12yr old Newfie/Lab mix, are the love of her life.

Shannon stated cycling 7 yrs ago to train for a triathlon but has since decided to drop that nonsense and go Big Ring! Other than cycling her favorite outdoor pastime is trail running. She hopes to be able to get back on her bike without a stutter step soon!

Asked what is on her Ipod, here is what Shannon said, “Black Angels, PJ Harvey, Santogold, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.”
